Trump.D Diary : W/E Fri 17th Nov 2017

Who has a silly haircut, an enormous ego and aggressive tendencies? Need another clue? OK this guy has been called short and fat .... but not by me!

Alex Azar will be a star for better healthcare and lower drug prices.  He's very well qualified having been deputy health secretary under George W Bush and a top pharmaceutical executive until January this year.  He replaces Tom Price, who resigned in September after it emerged he spent up to $1m on private travel.

My tour of Asia has been a spectacular success, creating $300bn in new business and energy deals.  A new Alaskan project will mark the first major investment by a Chinese energy firm in the US and a fracking good project for W. Virginia.  We've made some very big steps with respect to trade, far bigger than made public yet..

Getting our 3 shoplifting college basketball players released from detention in China will have cost me a personal favor and what they did was stupid and unfortunate but President Xi was terrific.

I had the fleet doing exercises in the Sea of Japan as a way of convincing my little, fat (potential) friend that we're serious and also to underpin my push for a regional response to North Korea's continued provocation.

The Sutherland Springs shooting was truly shocking and our thoughts go out to the whole town in mourning.

Much as I LOVE reversing Obama's legacy, my administration's reversal of his ban on importing elephant trophies could be unfortunate.  The US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) said hunting fees could aid conservation of the endangered animals but that case needs proving.  We're already under heavy attack over global warming and the ivory trade does little for US business so I've put a hold on things until we get a clearer picture.

Finally - after I made a rallyig visit to Congress n person - the House Republicans have done the right thing and passed our overhaul of the US tax code.  It slashes corporate rates and the Democrats say it is a give-away to the wealthiest Americans but it really is a big step towards a beautiful Christmas present for families.  I know my family would be thrilled.
