MAD ! 
So you have to ring the surgery from 08:00 sharp to get an appointment.
I rang at 07:59:30 and got a "The surgery is now closed.." recorded message
Ringing straight back I got through to the multiple selection recorded options, listened through the Covid and other housekeeping tripe and finally selected "1" for appointments.
Now I MUST have been among the very first few callers right?
So why did I have to spend the NEXT 20 MINUTES listening to
wholly inappropriate recorded music interspersed with recorded
reassurances that "MY CALL IS IMPORTANT...."
- presumably each one repeating whenever
someone ELSE got answered ahead of me????
If my call was so goddam important then
SURELY they would USE A QUEUING SYSTEM?
It's NOT rocket science and they are DEFINITELY
earning enough to warrant that small outlay
