BUCK UP BORIS !!!
COVID APART There are too many opportunities for the opposition to criticise government actions
COVID has without doubt been a national disaster and it's far from over yet.
Throughout lockdown and beyond I for one got sick and tired of Kier Starmer and his shadow cabinet playing public "coulda woulda shoulda" for the pure sake of publicity or with the benefit of hindsight. There are times when party politics should take a back seat in the national interest and this for me was an instance with little room for petty party politics.
Of course there were some decisions and delays that might better have been handled differently in hindsight but as they say hindsight is always 20:20 and this was a rapidly evolving situation without precedent - a sure sign that all our leaders and spokesmen should have expressed public unity and resolution ... even if they fought like cats and dogs behind closed doors.
ANYWAY
All that aside all MPs should comply with the regulations and codes of conduct applicable to that position of privilege.
Transparent & compliant over Boris' interior decorations
Transparent & compliant over Owen Paterson's commissions
Transparent & compliant at all times!
Please let's avoid another multi-party scandal such as occurred over MPs expenses.
How much more sleaze and muck raking is going to detract from the big issues of recovering from COVID & BRExit and from leading global-friendly policies ?
So Buck up Boris because right now NOBODY in British politics looks all that clever and you ARE the Prime Minister so there's little for you to look or be smug about
